Five Year Anniversary Celebration

The National Foundation of Science and Technology (NFSAT) of Armenia is pleased to celebrate the organization’s five-year anniversary on July 3, 2002. Since its inception, NFSAT's mission has been to develop Armenia's scientific and engineering potential by awarding competitive merit-based grants to joint teams of Armenian-U.S. research groups and scientists. The grants are awarded with the objective of advancing the development of the Armenian scientific community in the fields of basic sciences, applied sciences, humanitarian and social sciences, and experimental science. The day-long celebration on July 3, 2002, will gather government representatives, Armenian and American scientists, business leaders, and representatives of NGOs to recognize NFSAT accomplishments and discuss future opportunities for scientific collaboration. Joint teams of Armenian-U.S. researchers will present the highlights of their work and discuss its impact in Armenia. NFSAT will also announce new research grant awards under its 2002 Bilateral Grants Competition.
